Beata Sagan, Ph.D. was born in Sosnowiec. She graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration, Silesian University in Katowice. Having submitted the master’s thesis on “The Legal Situation of Associations in Poland”, she earned her master’s degree in law. In 1989, Dr Beata Sagan joint the teaching staff of the Faculty of Law and Administration, Silesian University (Chair of Public Business Law). In 1998, she defended her Ph. D. thesis on “Charities as a form of performing public tasks by administration” written under the tutorship of Professor Jan Grabowski. In 1999 – 2002, she managed trainings and courses for part-time students on administration held within the Faculty of Law and Administration.

 

Since October 2002 she has been working at the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Rzeszów, in the Department for Business and Commercial Law. She performs the function of the Chief Editor of Ius et Administration, a quarterly journal, published by the Faculty. She co-operates with the District Chamber of Legal Advisors, participating in the trainings of candidate solicitors.

 

Her interests embrace public aspects of carrying on a business. The research includes: competition within the area of public utility services, administrative aspects of construction process as well as consumer protection in the aspect of public law.
